Thinking about it just makes me feel old !

At last once my youngest is 4 she says i can have another ! Buy it the next day by plastic !

9th 2008 VTR (so much nicer than the 2007 VFR !)

I have forgotten when these were ! DT250/XS650 perhaps i just need to erase them!

NO YOU CAN'T

Because you have a FULL car licence you are subject to the 12 point rule.

The 6 point rule is for NEW licence holders. You have held a licence for 17 years and past a test to add another catagory.

Phew ah didn't realise that Paul, the GF did a speed course and the 6 point thing was mentioned obviously they didn't explain it well to her, phew at least kinda worry has lifted on my shoulders cheers fella.
She been drivng bikes for 17 years as for the car pass guestimate 20+ started off on scooters, then variety of bikes she did mention a motoguzzi but now shes on a 1100 GSXR

I had my moped (Honda PC50) when I was 16yrs old. Past my test when I was seventeen and have always owned a bike for the last 35yrs except for 12mths when I had to sell the bike so I could afford to run a car, that was when I was 19yrs old and a struggling apprentice

. Couldn't stand it any longer than the 12mths without a bike so I got another one

With my brothers we had quite lot of old road bikes that got stripped of anything that wasn't needed and off road bikes that we were fortunate enough to be able to ride on our farm. I also had two old cars at different times the first one being when I was only 13yrs old.

First bike SS50 off road then an RD50 on the road. A year later I found women and Mk1 escorts very sexy so canned two wheels, had a moment of clarity 10 yrs later and bought a bandit 6 (to get used to bikes again). never looked back.

I'm 34 and I got my first bike when I was 5-6 a yamaha PW50, lol. I started racing dirt bikes when I was 10 on the old YZ80.

I got my first road bike when I was 24 a Honda VT750 and picked up the VTR 1000 in 2006

I'm saying feck all about me age

gave up bikes circa 1983 for the usual family reasons. finally got permission from wifie for another bike in sept 2007 (sorta coincided with the time all the marbles started appearing at the top of the stairs

) & bought 'blindmaninchains' (from this forum) red storm that same month. rode like a complete tit for 4 months then added the SP1 and ain't improved at all

about 12 years riding in total.

Started driving cars off road at 11 bikes on road at 15

passed test at 16 car at 18. That's 49 for the bike and ermmmmm 53 for cars

and I'm still only 21 (at heart).

51, started at 16, ridden pretty much continuously since then, just had a couple of sessions of two years off when I had to rep a company car- just long enough for my no-claims to lapse in both car and bike!

Only took car test at 27, whenI had my first company directorship. Had to run a reliant supervan around until i passed the car one!

Now they're interesting- in the snow, the two rear wheels follow everyone else's tyre tracks, so no prob's, but the front one ploughs through the fresh stuff in the middle, hopping from one track to the other if it's frozen solid again.....

Just Hondas and old Triumphs mostly, although there was the sidecar for a while.....
handling on that was awful, except being able to go for miles with the chair wheel in the air (easier than it looks).
But then I took the chair off, and the handling was MUCH worse- probably due to right-angle squared off Avon Speedmasters!
