Rear caliper bracket

Post by silverstorm »

The front retaining bolt on my rear brake caliper snapped yesterday as I tried to remove it.
(I knew it would but hoped it wouldn't!!)

I am going to try and drill it out of the alloy bracket as it appears well seized but can anyone tell me how much these alloy brackets are new (just in case).
I do know the bolt is £6 from the dealers!!

Also what sort of price do breakers ask for this type of part.

Thanks......

Cheers Del.

I would be interested in a bracket if you have one.
Let me know how much (inc postage as up in Northumberland).

Sorry about number of posts it was my connection, caused me to press the submit button too many times.............

Project Bikes in Eastwood Notts have a caliper bracket (I've just had the caliper). I believe it's £15+postage+VAT or £15 cash.

REAR CALIPER BRACKET

Post by silverstorm »

Thanks for the info.

I had an Engineer try and drill out the offending bolt but he was forced to go through the rear of the bracket so it was knackered.

I was visiting Westgate Road (street of bike shops) in Newcastle on Saturday and decided to try one of the breakers on the off chance they had a bracket.
Would you believe it??.......a bracket with both bolts for a tenner...sorted.
:P
