I know there was a thread a while ago regarding 180's on the rear, but I can't find the damned thing anywhere. Does anyone remember the conclusions that were arrived at about slapping 180's on the back. I'm currently running Metzler 170's.
The standard tyres are 180's and I think that the previous thread was about slapping a 190 on the rear and the effects that would have. Seem to remember that it would make the storm steer slower but would fit.

would I be right in believing that the newer model Storms from about 2000 onwards have 190 section rear tyres?
Mines 99 model with a 180 on the back as standard and its just fine, don't know if a 190 would slow the steering but it would be harder to scrub the edge of the tyre and lose valuable pose points
However from previous experience with front tyres it ain't worth going up a size as the steering goes to s**t!
The huggers are a curse for things like that. At one stage one of the brackets holding on mine shattered and I did a "Field Repair" with a piece of clothes hanger to get me home. The tyre rubbed all the way, and I have a beautiful glossy shine on the chick strip on the right hand side.
Thanks for the input guys, I think I'll stick a 180 on it.
must admit it was a slight sweat until the wheel was fitted in case it didnt fit, but once the tyre was on the rim, it didnt actually make that much of a difference to the overall size....
still plenty of room either side of the hugger.....(phew)
