other mirrors--advice!!!

Post by patty »

quick question,
as we/some of us know you cant see bugger all out of the mirrors.
now i read somewhere(dont ask me where)
that you can fit other honda mirrors onto your storm and actully see behind you.
the way i was going to do it was the way i read.

undo the mirrors ,then undo the arm from the fairing mount ,and recoonect useing the arms of the newmirrors ... vfr800(these are the ones i was going to use).
bolt back onto fairing........and now you can see!!!!

anyone else here done this???can you actully see????and do other mirrors like vfr800 mirrors undo at the arm like our firestorm ones???

cheers
pat.

They look good FSM.
At around that price a real bargain.
Are they led's in there. If so that won't upset the flasher unit either.
I use a set of German made extender arms + some Extenda Vision blocks made by a certain VTR owner that overall pushes the mirror some 70 + mm out on either side. Gives good rear view and with a small round blind spot mirror on the rhs means hopefully no where for anyone to hide!!!!

Mirror indy's

Post by tony.mon »

Yup, been using the plain black ones like those above for about three months now. On my third set, either the weight of the cover breaks them off at the stem base or the bloody postman clouts them with his bag!
Now got the fake carbon ones as per above.
IMO the LED's aren't bright enough on their own so I use a set of side repeaters as well.
They vibrate a bit more than the standard ones, though, but you can still see ok.

One general whinge- why can't you get mirrors which have a detent position in the setting, like car mirrors- every morning I have to play around for the first two miles to reset them just so.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Just noticed, Mike- you've got them fitted upside down as well!
They just look right that way up.
The lettering on them shows they should be fitted the other way up, and that's the way they're shown in the mnfrs literature, too.

Surprised nobodies mentioned R1 mirrors! They fit, and you can also fit a spacer/extra long arm which works well too!
