again.................................
Hi all
A mate has just dipped his toe into Firestorm ownership , and is starting to make alterations
He's after some cans , and has identified the following :
Fuel
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VTR1000-VTR-FIRES ... 0159486625
Viper
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-VTR1000-Fir ... 0155166057
What he'd like to know is , does anyone on here have any experience of either of these makes ?
Good , bad , whatever , your thoughts'd be appreciated
Cheers

They are probably fine, never heard of either though. He would be better off buying some secondhand ones like these:

Better off in what way ?
I should add he's a stickler for things being just right , and to be honest , I've mentioned buying 2nd hand ( mine were pre-owned ) but when it comes to marks and dings , he's not interested.
He's ridden the bike once , and it won't see the light of day now until it's been completely stripped , cleaned and rebuilt.
although time isn't an issue , he's not interrested in bidding on something , or expressing an interest , and then not getting it.
just how he is , I suppose.
But thanks for the links , anyway
Cheers

Fuel cans are made by a company in Lancashire i have fitted one before on a NC30 seem well made sounded good i have also seen em at local bike meets on various other bikes including the vtr and again sound good or you could get him to contact Wayne at JAC exhausts he will sort you out with some decent cans.
imo i would stay away from the viper range as the orange face antique man says "cheap as chips"
i would recommend Blueflame, Microns, Scorpians, Devil, etc etc

I second that .... Viper cans sound nice, look good but as the old saying goes.....u buy cheap u buy twice....i found my vipers fouled on the swingarm when i hit a big bump in the road( bad fit ). Have now got some microns on the way.
Whilst looking for replacements tho i stumbled across Venom race cans for £208 excluding VAT for the Pair!!! brand new...venom are made by Motad(everyones heard of them) race cans cheaper than road legal tho.

I got a pair of Vipers that I use for, ahem, track days only (they're marked 'for competition use only'), yes indeed, I'd never even dream of leaving them on for road use, absolutely not, no sirree, etc.
They seem fine to me - they not the sexiest or most expensive, but they were offered to me for £50 for the pair so I had them. Nice noise, no obvious problems and they pop and bang on the over-run like a great big poppy-bangy thing.
I have heard stories about them, though, that say they fall apart like a cheap watch, but mine have endured at least ten thousand miles of neglect and are fine.
Mind you, I though mine sounded nice until I pulled up alongside a TL thou with a very pretty set of carbon fibre Termignoni's - the only way I can describe the wonderful noise it made was to say it sounded like a cross between a Motorhead gig and an earthquake.
Edited: Just checked a couple of sites, and I can't see either Termignoni slip-ons or race systems for a TL1000, so I'm now somewhat confused! However, there is a lovely pair of cans for the SP1, a snip at £710 http://www.bici.co.uk/bc/6466/118974/1/ ... austs.html

Black VTR + loud pipes = big grin + many car alarms set off
