All the best mate

Burns a little oil over 85 degrees! Nothing you smart engineer types won't be able to fix!!

Smart engineers avoid diesel bikes (as in oil burners!!!).

Just get a GSXR1000 and be done with it. You know you're gonna be all like "more power!" till you get one.

Be careful what you do Sparrow :!:
The TLS had a bad reputation for tank slapping and sold poorly, it was also nick named the widow maker for that reason. The people who didn't find the suspension a problem were over 14 stone. You'd be better off going for the TLR which was the replacement for the TLS that was a better handling bike :!: If you have a TLS in mind, (I must admit I prefer the look of the TLS compared to the TLR) see if the suspension has been re-worked so it's a safer bike. Down side to a TLR (I imagine the TLS is the same) is the camshafts have spring loaded cam wheels, when these wear they become noisy and can only be replaced complete with the whole camshaft which is costly, so if the bike you look at has high mileage listen for excessive rattling from the top of the engine at the cylinder heads.

Cheers,

Chris.

Also check the lugs where the rear shock mounts to the frame, these were prone to stress and cracking, the mod for the suspension was a new frame in some cases. a change to ohlins or another shock is advised as the rotary damper type shock is only good for closing doors with.
