Hi all. I have had my 2005 SP2 since new but for the last year its not been run, divorce, buying new house etc.
It's been in a nice dry garage and I was expecting it to start today when I tried it.
Needless to say it did not.
Everything lights up as normal but I don't have that usual sound of the fuel system setting itself that you get each time you turn on the ignition on, you know the sound.
I can hear what I presume is the fuel pump trying to do something but it just makes a click and that is it.
I am guessing the fuel pump is dead or the filter is gummed up but I don't want to buy another if I am missing something simple.
All fuses checked, turns over just a lack of fuel, yuasa battery 100%, stays on my optmate battery manager.
I have a few litres of 99.9% IPA so I am going to take the pump off tomorrow and see if I can flush the pump and more likely the filter through.
Any help would be great.

Re: 2005 SP2 Fuel Pump
If the filter was gummed up you would still hear the fuel pump run at ignition on- that's not to say it won't need a clean while you have it out.
I can't recall if there is a dedicated fuse for the fuel pump, so check all the fuses just in case.
You can check for power on the fuel pump connector under the tank before you start pulling the pump off.
It's also best to use a new seal on the tank, re-using old ones often results in a leak.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: 2005 SP2 Fuel Pump
I know you have had the bike since new so please don’t take this the wrong way but do you have an alarm fitted? Is the kill switch in the run position? Is there no slow whirring noise of the fuel pump trying to prime or pressurise the system? Did you put any stabiliser in the fuel system before storage? Have you moved the bike since the last time it was run?
