Torque Settings please..???

Post by Donut 77 »

Evening all, I seem to have a very special Haynes manual which is missing a number of torque settings.

Todays requests are in the following two pics.

1) The two hex head bolts that hold the pillion footrest onto the 1” steel seat frame.

2) The front of the seat frame top and bottom (top one is a 10mm bolt into alloy, the bottom one is a 10mm hex bolt and nut)

I would also like to know which page/section it appears in your Haynes please. We have established on here previously that my version is missing some of the info.

Thanks in advance.,

Just checked my Haynes & there is no reference that I can find to the subframe or the rear peg hangers. It's not even in the index...rear peg hangers go 30Nm & use some locktight as for the subframe find something with the same size bolt & see if you can find a torque setting for that. I just do them up tight with a dab of locktight...

Good advice thank you. Good to know that I wasn’t missing something. 30 sounds good on the pegs. The sub frame ones will be different to each other i guess? Strange for them to miss such an important part..

I think they are all 10mm threads..

Torque settings are difficult for a novice as there’s times when I think it’s tight but then it’s nowhere near the setting and vice versa..

I had a quick look through the Haynes manual like Mac had, but couldn't find what you're after either, that was late last evening.

Today I had a look in my Honda Shop Manual, they are as follows:

You can download a PDF Honda Shop Manual from here:

Mac you weren’t far off on your guess of 30 for the footrest bolts 👍

I must admit I was surprised to see the torque values required in the Honda Shop Manual,

Chris.
