Hello!
last year i swapped to manual cct's.
Tripple or quad checked that the slack was 7mm on both front and rear cam chain before locking the nuts up.
I rode the bike a couple of times before puttning it into hibernation over winter and it was running great.
Now I have some difficulties starting it like it's somewhat hard to turn over from piston?
Could be old gas and carb need calibration.
I loosened the tensioners 1/4-1/6 each when I was working on it this spring as they seemed to be too tight.
Now I'm questioning myself if they are too loose since i can hear a rattle quite clearly while in 2nd gear and going about 3000rpm.
Read that it's possible to adjust the mcct's while the engine is running once it's gone up to working temp, loosening untill you hear distinct rattle then tighten till it stops and then unscrew about 1/8 of a turn?
Before attempting this I will switch to stock exhausted to more easily hear the rattle...
Attatching link to a video of me waking around the bike warmed up & idling.
+Youtube link in case the first one fail.

Re: New mcct's
Might be best to whip the head covers off and visually check the chain tension, just to make sure you're running them at the correct tension.
Could it be a weak battery or starter which is causing the laboured starting?

Yeah you're probably right there...
Brand new battery!
Ordered new plugs as one of them doesn't look too nice...

Re: New mcct's
Also pull the clutch in to stop that rattle confusing matters .
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: New mcct's
I'm happy to say that it starts like it used to last year.
Will be checking the tension in the future!

7mm is about as slack as you want them.. pull the cam covers just to check..
