Wheel balancing

Post by Donut 77 »

Evening all,

I have stripped the wheels apart ready for checking bearings/seals and new tyres next week.

My mates garage is doing them while my camper van is in for MOT. I asked today if I should leave the disks on, he said no.

I can see why they might be in the way for tyre fitting, but to my mind, certainly on the rear where there is a sprocket and hub one side and disk the other, don’t you want to have as much in place that would normally rotate for balancing?

TIA
Good job I’m not in a rush…

Any tyre fitter set up for bike wheels will do this with everything but the spacers fitted. Go somewhere else.

You need dynamic balancing, not static.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Yes, I think I’m going to. He’s a good car mechanic but it might be a false economy.
