Grainstorm VIII...Orff with their heads... May 27th 2023

GrainStorm VIII...Orff with their heads...

May 27th 2023.

Yes it that time of year again bit later than last years bash but work get's in the way for me now. Hopefully the weather will play ball.

Gonna sort out an Air Ambulace collection again this year, so It forgoes the Bikkie/cake/bun entrance fee... Put the money in the tin instead.

As is the norm for a workshopday the whole idea is to do the work on your bike yourself...there will be someone on hand to talk you through it if you not 100% confident. So bring any parts & fluids you will need & tools if possible.

If you want to attend just for the craic, to meet fellow Stormers or just to talk general bollacks..thats fine...we need just one bike to be worked on to make it a workshopday...& it gives the rest of us someone to mock...

I have paddock stands, abba stands & most tools...but please bring you own tools if you can...I don't mind lending out tools but keeping track of them when there are loads of bods around is a bit tough. remember the old saying...

''If you handle another man's tool treat it as you would treat you own & always return it wiped clean with no messy residues upon it...''

There will be plenty of rags, paper towels, fluid receptacles ect on hand. Plus air compresor + tools, bearing tools, brake tools & large hammers.

Remember you are working on your own bike.

There is plenty of room but no responsibility is taken by me for any ham fisted broken bits or any baboon treading on your removed body work.

I do have some spares, oils, fluids & lube if needed.

It has to be a Saturday in case a major part is required & a trip to a bike shop is required. Although I do have a good selection of spare parts...

If you want to attend then drop me a PM to start with. Inc. your user name & what you intend to be doing. In return I will send you full address & a contact number..

New members with less than 50 posts...get posting or post on here & I will PM you.

I am not putting my Address, phone number or e-mail in this post...Contact via PM only...

Comon down the banjos are a calling...

Attendees list...

Mac... Host, cook (until 09.30)

Frank... Parts Spider.

Duffy... Moaning about ULEZ & the cost of Ducati ownership...

The Jones & Michala (depending on Shifts for Micipops)

Popkat... Definitely maybe. Sadly not as dog sitting. :(

Princess Pete L... Certainly possible, perhaps.

AMCQ46... could be tempted ...

Jamie... If the storm is ready...

Anyone else needing an overnight is welcome at my house and it only takes half an hour to get to Mac's from mine. TN15 postcode.

Two single camp beds available in the conservatory.
Any more get the blow-up bed option.

Also, Mac- I'll call in the favour for picking up you and your broken bike last week - HP sauce, please!

I'll still bring biscuit bribes, of course.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Looks like I have to pass spending the night farting on the sofa 😢 I was looking forward to coming up as long as I was well enough but now been informed by er indoors and one of the daughters that they are going away to some music festival that weekend and I have to stay home to look after the dog.

I just received quite a threatening call from a bloke called Frank or something. He said he was part of the infamous Grain arachnid chapter and if I don't turn up on my Storm, he'll come and dismantle it and sell all the parts on eBay for a quid.

So I guess, I'll see you guys there?!
