2023 Irish meeting 21st July

Post by cheekykev »

Hi all, due to me being very busy with the house move, and renovating it, I've fell a bit behind with organising the trips.
So I'll try and catch up with things soon.
As usual I'll be asking people for their deposits some time in January.
For now, can Anyone who's up for it please message me as soon as possible.
This year we will be staying in Enniskillen as a base.
I have a really nice place already booked for us mainlanders, but I do have another place booked to accommodate another 6 people.
If you're up for it please message me as soon as possible, also let me know if you intend lodging with us,

Just for all the mainlanders who are thinking attending this meeting.
I've just checked, and for our meeting dates P&O are doing a good deal at the moment.
Passenger and motorcycle.
Cainryian to Larne £80 return on economy.
£110 return on Flexi.
Flexi would be a good choice because some of us are probably going to stop on for a few days like we did last year.

2023 Irish meeting 21st July

only a couple of weeks to go, so I will add my 1st thoughts at some routes to ride. I will get HuskyJames to review before we finalise, so plenty of time for comments and suggestions

this takes in some of the best roads out towards Sligo https://kurv.gr/G2Zur

this is a longer route going north. 230mile north loop - although there are plenty of options for short cuts

and this is an option getting from Belfast to the digs ferry to Enniskillen

Hi all, first off, my apologies for not keeping things up to date, I'm normally on top of things, but I've just been so busy with the house renovation.
Anyway I'm Chilling in the Isle Of Man at the moment, here for the Souhern 100.
I noticed a few questions being posted up.
So while I'm free, I thought I'd bring you all a bit more up to date.
For those booked into the digs with me coming from the mainland, we will dock in Belfast at 13.45, so we should be at the digs for about 16.00/16.30
All the Irish lads booked in with me can meet us there or join us on route.
Regards a meeting point for the rides out, I'm not familiar with the area, so I'll have to rely on one of you Irish lads (probably james) plus maybe Alistair to sort that out, or just meet up at our digs.
Address is
Belle Isle Castle Cottages
BT945GH
For all those staying at the digs, towels, and bedding are included.
We're a little out in the sticks, so we'll have sort out food and drinks for breakfast, and meals at night.
There is a Spar type shop pretty local. Other than that there's a Tesco superstore and a Asda superstore in Enniskillen which is about 7 miles away.
I believe there's a nice place to eat called the Dog and Duck not too far away.
If there's any more questions, please post up.

The Tequila probably doesn't help. But it's worth a shot.

2023 Irish meeting 21st July

Post by AMCQ46 »

So that’s us done for another year.

we are now on the stupidly early ferry (7.30 !!!) out of Belfast and heading back to the mainland after a few days of mayhem around the beautiful enniskillen area.

5 of us off the forum (who might have once owned a vtr) and 3 friends of vtr owners made the crossing from cairnryan to Belfast on the Friday morning.
PeteL and I rode up on Thursday and met up with Kev and mark and kevs mate john and we all went up to Dumfries for the night where we met Grumpyfrog.
We made a decision on the ferry that it would be a great idea to drop in and visit our favourite, but broken leprechaun (Fabiostar) to offer him piss taking and physical abuse as he was only 20 mins from the ferry.

At robs we met up with locals Chris and husky James. Then set of on the 80mile ride to Enniskillen in the west.

It had been dry for the ride up and looked ok till early afternoon on the Friday, but we had seen the forecast and knew it was going to get wet for the weekend. So just as we were leaving Fabiostar’s house it started and just got worse a d worse!

Some idiot (me) made the decision to follow a back road route to the digs, but with the rain getting bad it perhaps wasn’t the most fun ride , but we made it and met up with little Kenny who had seen the forecast and hired a van to Bring his bike across !!!

Only man missing was dave o D coming up from the south, but when we looked on WhatsApp we saw a message saying he had a puncture and he was still 60 miles away…. But he was ok because he had a mate that lived nearby and he was going to collect him.

So Friday night it was off to the dog and Richard for some beer and a meal and some catching up and some talking ballocks.

To be continued
