Southern Softies Ride up to Brum 25th meet.

Post by MacV2 »

For the Southern Softies Ride up & meeting points....
OK so here is what I've come up with...

A multi point meeting run...Thought it best to make the meet points service stations so you can top up if ness. This is the route I will be taking so you can meet up along the way at any of the meet points.

Each meet point has an approx arrival but a firm leaving time...

Distance & time between points is via google maps so whilst the miles is firm the timings acording to them are not necessarily correct due to the posted speed limits, traffic & road works ect.

A/ Brook Street services off J28 M25...CM14 5NA Aiming to be there at 07.15 leaving at 07.40 sharp. Its then 26 miles to...

B/South Mimms Services off J23 M25...EN6 3QQ Aiming to be there from 08.00/0815 & leaving @ 08.40. it's then 70 miles to...

C/Watford Gap Services on the M1... NN6 7UZ Aiming to be there from 9.40/50 & leaving @ 10.15 sharp...

Apparently there is a shed load of roadworks on the A45 which of course is the best way into the NMM... So gonna have to re-route further North on the M1 & come down ...

D/ So apparently M1 J19 -M6 to J4 then south on A446 & A452 turn right onto A45 NMM on the left...

Which should then get us the 30 miles to the National Motorcycle Museum B92 0EJ @ 11.00 ish...

Apparently the venue is open from 08.30... I will check with NMM via email to confirm.

So as said all arrival times are dependent on traffic, roadworks & unforeseen Traffic issues.
Don't forget your passports & translation books as we're going north of the Watford Gap...
Also bring lube as your gonna get butt feked by filling up at the M/Way service stations...

Venue is now cashless, so cards only in the cafe...

FACE COVERINGS
Use of a mask is entirely at visitors discretion.

Can you all let me know if your attending, so I can get an idea of numbers.

Plus can you let me know where if at all you will be meeting up along the way, So we know who to meet & where.

The fule stops are generally on the way out of the service stations, so that will be where the meets will be.

If you want to get a drink in the main section fine but then make your way to the fule area to meet up.

Important info for the day.

Venue is now fully contactless for payments. So if you want to use the cafe it's card only no cash.

Re Covid the Museum is mask at your discrection. If you want to wear one feel free. If you dont no ones gonna pull you up on it.

I have mailed them today re the area to use. Last time it was the area to the right of the main entrance, gravel area so a puk is a wise move.

Finally can I get a simple ''YES''reply to this post if you are attending on the day, so I can get an idea of numbers this is for the Museum. Thanks Mac

I'll be meeting Herr Jonesey on his Panzer for a 06:30 dawn patrol, heading South to pick up the SS South Mimms division for the big advance to the North.

Jonsey, are you and Michela wanting to stop over on the Saturday night ?

If so, any BBQ & Beer preferences (and a fruit based drink for that ladies  )

Not sure that Michaela will be gracing us with her presance...

Jones is planning on the BBQ but then leaving to stay at a relatives near by, planning on returning in the morning for the ride home.
