Measuring chain stretch...

Post by TaxiDriver »

Is there a way to measure chain stretch other than using a Tsubaki tool?.
Think I saw one for £95.......ft.

With the chain correctly tensioned...Should be on side stand.

If you can pull the chain away from the rear sprocket it's fecked...

Grip the chain twixt finger & thumb & pull back, it will have a bit of movement but if it's badly worn you'll be able to pull it away from the sprocket.

It'll be obvious when you try it...
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...
