I might be describing the fault and the cause here but I am hoping some one can explain to me what is happening.
During the weekend cleaning of teh bike I noticed that my lower radiator joint hose had taken an oval shape (starting at the bottom of the right hand radiator). Which I thought could possibly indicate that there is a vacuum in the cooling system.
On the fault finding mission which followed I noticed that the pipe returns back to it's round shape once the radiator cap has been taken off. (coolant was slightly low so I topped it up)
I also found that the Siphon tube to the Reserve tank seems blocked.
I am not sure if this is part of the cooling system loop and therefore not sure if this explains the vacuum?
Could anyone explain/confirm what the problem is or might be?
Would anybody know how to remedy a hose pipe blockage?
Thx!

If the syphon tube back to the resevoir is blocked, that will be your problem, the coolant heats up and passes some of the expansion pressure back to the resevoir, as it cools down and contracts you'll get a negative pressure in the tubes.

Hé Chris - not recently anymore. But I did change it about 4-5 moths ago.sirch345 wrote:Hi Bink,
I'm I right in thinking you changed your coolant on your Firestorm recently![]()
Chris.
Anybody any idea how to unblock the siphon? Could it be as simple as pushing a copper wire down the tube?
Cheers so far so the words of advise.
