Run to GrainStorm V
Run to GrainStorm V
So on the back of Sir Mac’s GrainStorm V thread I would like to suggest an A120 (Harwich end) run to the Mac cave. Mac has said doors open at 08:00 and not wanting to be last in line for the bacon sarnies I was thinking of leaving Harwich at 06:30. I know some of you who are going come from Harwich and others along the way. If you fancy starting together or meeting up enroute I am happy to put a pick up rout and times together.
I was thinking A120, A12, M25 and once into Kent who knows if it works better with attendees we could do A130, A127 instead.

Jeez!
No wonder I never make it in time for the Bacon butties. That's normally when I leave Bristol.
Those Butties must be really special

To be honest I thought it would take all day for me to change the CCT’s so was being proactive but may be a bit premature, no jokes please... open to times guys, just wanted to get the dialogue going.Pete.L wrote:Jeez!

I'll be heading up (or down depending on how you look at it)
Say Colchester A12 at the BP services @7am

Sounds like a good starting message, thank you. Funny, I always say up the A12 but it defiantly is down from our direction. Anyone one else interested please send meeting points you would like and I will put it all together nearer the time.Wicky wrote:I'll be heading up (or down depending on how you look at it)

Hi. If you come off A12 onto A130 I could pick you up in the layby after Wickford turn off/on slip, probably 30-40 mins from ColchesterSolarboy wrote:Sounds like a good starting message, thank you. Re: Run to GrainStorm V
I recon that’s 25 mins from the Col U stadium at most. Can you be there for 07:25?, and EE can certainly come that way.

Nice one. I’ll put together a rough route and times now from Ramsey to The dark side over the weekend and put it up for others to jump in.tilt390 wrote:Yes mateySolarboy wrote:I recon that’s 25 mins from the Col U stadium at most. Can you be there for 07:25?, and EE can certainly come that way.

Re: Run to GrainStorm V
So here we go for a plan of travel from Harwich to the dark side (Grain)
Will be leaving Harwich from the Morrison’s garage at 06:40 on the A120/Parkeston bypass roundabout. (meeting point for those from Harwich who are heading down) heading south down the A120 joining the A12 at Colchester. We can pick up Wicky at the garage on the north bound side of the A12 opposite the Colchester football stadium at 07:00. Nice flyover on this junction making joining from either direction easy. Still heading south after this down the A12 to the A130 junction at Chelmsford. Heading down the A130 southbound we can pick up Tilt390 at the lay-by just before the Wickford turn off at 07:25 (See post before). After this we will be going A13-M25 across the QE2 bridge-A2-A289-A288-B2001 and then use the force to Mr Mac’s cave.
This is a plan of attack and I can add other stops in if needed. Looking forward to putting some faces to the names.
