Hello,
I've found that the resistance is 5k ohms. If I recall correctly it's a terminal stud? And what is the plug size?
Spark plug cap size?

Re: Spark plug cap size?
12mm thread size on the spark plugs but 18mm socket to remove them and it is indeed a stud fitment.

Re: Spark plug cap size?
The NGK plug for our bike DPR9EIX-9 comes with a terminal nut, but that can be unscrewed if the cap type is a terminal stud design.
One issue you will run in to is, none of the NGK spark plug caps will be an exact replacement to stock, to include the weather boot needed to keep rain and other debris out of the spark plug well.
One of the challenges of doing COP modification and swap is adapting the OEM rubber boot to the COP.
If you are going to hassle with replacing the spark plug caps, do so with a COP mod.
You get the best of all worlds..
Modern design, highest possible energy at the plug, reduce excess components and clean up the under tank area...and no need to find a NGK replacement cap and mod a boot up for it.

Re: Spark plug cap size?
Ah, thanks for the explanation!
I have ordered the ignition coils (with the original caps), so in that case I will just stick with them for the time being.

Re: Spark plug cap size?
yikes at about $60 piece front and rear, ($120 or so USD) you could have bought several 4 pack sets of coils, new connectors to build 12 sets (or more) of 2 each COP modified for use on the VTR, sold excess modified COP's and the mod would have paid for itself and then some.
If you can cancel the purchase of the stock coils and caps , consider doing so and building some modified COP for your bike.

Re: Spark plug cap size?
Bought 2nd hand coils for £25 to swap and see whether the ignition coils are causing me problems. If not, I can always sell them on.
Re: Spark plug cap size?
Ahh, got you, all good.. I assumed new...
So not tying to be a Richard.... but just in case you did not know how cheap it was to COP MOD.
£5 gets you the used harness to salvage connectors from
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/08-16-HONDA-C ... SwvKtY-ief
and another £14 gets you a pair of coils
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/06-07-2006-HO ... SwFnFWFT3d
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/06-07-2006-HO ... Sw0HVWFT4Z
But as your doing this as part of diagnostic process, perhaps better to not induce a "new" thing, and use a known good set of OEM coils and caps.
