Whats cheered you up today...?
Re: Whats cheered you up today...?
Yesterday I finished the third month of my self-imposed no-alcohol six months off.
Only one wobble- I had a can of shandy last week- 2 per cent. I'll just have to live with the shame.....
There have been health benefits:
The wife's arms don't ache so much carrying the shopping home.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Started my new job a few weeks back, left the last job after 12 years. Feels like the right move.

It's a peculiar feeling, I do miss the people but I don't miss the bullshit.lloydie wrote:It did feel good at the time but I do enjoy this job and hoping the grass is greener !

We were pushed into a corner too, they were changing shift patterns, more hours and wanting to pay £6k less because there were less premium (weekend) hours.
This new job has more responsibility and i'm a lot busier but I like that, it makes the day go by more quickly.
Best of luck with your new job lloydie

My new job is longer days but very cushy number .

Same here, was in danger of becoming a lifer. Management were dumbfounded when I handed my notice in, even more so now 6 others have left.

be very odd after 26 years at the last place. starting at 8, bloody hell what a lie in. was on the road at 0540 in the last job. home by 1730 too. its 7 miles away, compared to 219 a day that i did before. can't bloody wait.
