Cafe Racer project
Bought a cheap Honda 250 Superdream as a bit of a winter project...early days, but coming on bit by bit.
I don't want a show pony, just a bit of fun....
Before
Ten days in...
More to follow!!

Re: Cafe Racer project
Would have been aquicker bike if you had left it RED !
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...
Re: Cafe Racer project
Wow that looks supercool but the only thing that stands out a little odd to me is the exhaust. You need to find some nice supercool exhaust to match it's new look. So what's to follow. What plans do you see for it.

Yep, you're right Carl...it came with that Motard system...it's in good condition but needs to be changed. I'm thinking of keeping the headers but putting two megaphones on the same (right) side....cybercarl wrote:Wow that looks supercool but the only thing that stands out a little odd to me is the exhaust. Re: Cafe Racer project
If the exhaust is stainless steel, why not just cut it mid section, shorten it, and crank it up slightly, that would have the desired effect and wouldn't cost much.
In my opinion a cranked up exhaust on a Cafe Racer always looks good, and also looks like some thought and effort as been put into it rather than just sticking something on that can be bought and just looks the same as many others.

Now THAT is nice! I'd love to see how it went together. Have you got any build pics?cheekykev wrote:here's a picture of mine.
Just remember to take the placcy bags off the air filters before you start it up...

Yeah, that's a good option...the pipes are in good nick, but I like your idea of wrapping them anyway, like yours....

Haha! I know what you mean! The seller was bombarded with folks wanting his Dream as a field bike, but it's way too nice for that. It has a rebuilt engine, sounds and runs dead sweet and the frame and forks are nice. It's a good start for my first CR project. Didn't want to buy a minter of any make then start fudging around. Need to get an idea of how to fandangle various bits before I upgrade to another project!
