Lloydie you were one very lucky man to get away with that so lightly as you did, even though it did scare the crap out of you, and the bike got hardly damaged either, amazing

sh1t, my worst nightmare that Lloydie.lloydie wrote:Took the bike to work this Morning !
Nearly killed myself big time.
I hit a badger on entry to a fast left hander ,as I hit it I got air born ,a car transporter was coming the other way and my left elbow clipped the near side front wing of it .
I landed on the grass verge and passed between the trees And ended up in a field ,it took me a good 30 minutes to get it back to the road so I could carry into work ,
Bike is fine (one broken bracket) I'm fine just badly shaken up .
Just have a image of going slat in my head .
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

After that close call yesterday I've decided to hang up my leathers ,
Really brought home how mental I get on a bike .
I'm going to sell up and take some time off !
I should of been dead and bike wrecked ,I can't get it out my head .
I've had offs before but this was too real not to pay attention to .

Saw piggy on eBay and suspected that you were taking time out.
Hope you still stay active on here even if you aren't riding. I will miss going out on the bike with you but it is better that you stay safe

It's not worth selling for that much Lloyd unless your desperate for the cash for paintballing. Just lock it up in the garage for 6 months and have a break until you get the bug again. The thing is once that bottle goes it slows one down for a while but then as confidence builds the madness creeps back in. The way I see it is that I could just as easily drop dead of a heart attack or get run over by bus. Life is full of risks.

Lloydie you are a fast but good rider. I understand though totally, take some time out and reflect on what may have been. Don't stop riding but change your attitude towards it. All the guys on here know biking is part of your life, its a passion and you've had a big fright. You a big man for admitting it.lloydie wrote:After that close call yesterday I've decided to hang up my leathers ,

I may have never ridden as fast as yourself in the last few years, but as you are aware I've changed my bike to accommodate the wife getting back on the bike. Ive totally changed my riding style and i feel more confident and iam enjoying this new "Me" on a bike at the moment.
Its still great fun but at a slightly slower pace etc.

We all have a little awakener every now and again. It's what lets you know you are alive. Put the bike away for a while by all means but don't give up. You'll miss it in the long run. Even if it's just a commute into work or a steady bimble in the country to clear your head it's still the best mode of transport.
