Cafe Racer Pics
Re: Cafe Racer Pics
Nice Kev, very classy. What does it ride like?
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

Re: Cafe Racer Pics
Yep another vote of confidence from me. Fantastic job Kev. Impeccable tastes as usual.
CHIPS should use that instead of Harleys.

Re: Cafe Racer Pics
Thanks everyone for the positive comments, going off the posts it seems I made the right decisions on the design and colour.
In answer to a couple of questions :-
Answer to tony.mon it rides ok, the suspension was far too soft as standard, but it didn't really matter because I renewed the rear, also serviced and put new progressive springs in forks.
Answer to Kev L you're right it would look older/classic if I used spoke wheels, but to make it look older is not what I intended to do, the whole Idea of this project was to try and make a ugly looking bike into something special while using as many of the original parts as possible (make a silk purse out of a sow's ear if you like) this was not for cost, it was just to see if I could do it, and judging by the comments it looks like I've achieved my goal, believe me the pictures don't do it justice, you need to see it in the flesh to appreciate all the finer details.
Answer to fabiostar I altered the front down pipes and I got Quill Exhaust to make the silencers to my design and size.
Answer to Mav617 It rides surprisingly ok considering what it is, you do need to compensate a little here and there, but it has character and it's bloody good fun to ride, it's strange when you ride something you've created yourself, you just seem to love it more and sit so proud on it![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Absolute quality, take a bow Kev. Having seen and had a ride in his T5 I'd expect nothing less.

Another .4 of a kilo to come off if you fit lighter plug caps!
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
