Right, sold! You've all confirmed what I was thinking so thank you! I actually started sanding back the frame last night. Done the large section on one side and it looks pretty good!
If it's broken; should it move? Yes: Use WD40 No: Use cable ties. Now it's fixed!

Hello, made some progress recently. I've painted the frame and the engine covers I'll try and get photos of the cases tomorrow but here's some pics of the frame. Went for a textured paint in the end.

I've painted a storm frame smooth satin black a few years ago, it looked very nice, tbh I rather like the textured look....
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: VTR Cafe Fighter Project
Cheers Pineapple, I like it and I think it'll contrast with the shiny bits quite well!

Textured paint ?
Does it make the frame feel a bit "raw" like the sanded back half part of the frame ?

Hello stephevk, this ones quite rough feels like sand paper. It's meant for pickup truck beds. You can get others that are smoother but wrinkle effect, there's a few options. I just liked this cos it looks tough af. Gonna use it on some other parts too.

Re: VTR Cafe Fighter Project
Hello kev. Yeah it was, I did 4 coats, you have to do them light cos you loose the texture if you put too much on. I sanded all the cast bits back with a grinder and a dremmle first to get a uniform finish, but I wonder if it was necessary..
