Standard Pipes

Post by kev64 »

Anybody running standard pipes.?

I just bought some new manifold pipes and decided to stick the
standard cans back on.
Gave em a polish they might way a ton but they still look well good.!!!
And the sound, you know it makes a change to be able to here other
stuff !!
And you know what, I might well have been imagining things, but it pulled
like a train and seemed a lot smoother !!

What did you have on before? Might have needed a jet kit to run with your old ones hence why it feels more responsive
If it aint broke, get your bloody hands off it!

What did you buy and from where. Re the mod to your cans is it a full jobby or just holes in the end plate. Keep threatening to do one or the other.

I only ran them for a trackday to ensure I got through testing, but I did actually enjoy them, during the ride there and back too. You only get the noise when cracking on, which encouraged me to crack on :)
Overtaking didn't feel rude and obnoxious either, just quietly swoop by and carry on.

...I do still run open Arrows though.

Black widow manifold, and just the holes drilled, not a bad sound, don't think the full
Bafflectomy is too difficult, I was gonna keep drilling a few more holes and bash out
with a hammer and chisel but never got round to it

I bought the bike with open cans and they were LOUD. Thinking about a track day they would never have passed so I got some standard cans, no bafflectomy. I much prefer the standard cans.

Cheers for that, I have been looking at these as my own headers or rather the front one has been badly squashed before I got it. Missed that but no mind just trying to make up my mind which way to go. D
