Can I fit bar end mirrors without it looking naff?

Post by NZSpokes »

Ive got Renthals. At last I can do long rides in comfort.

But the stock mirrors are hopeless. And they are the cause of a lot of noise. Will bar end mirrors look stupid?

Simple answer ...No as they look shite.

Complex answer ... Well they look shite IMO but as it's your bike do what you want with it, still look shite mind but thats up to you to decide. There are bar mount mirrors out there but it's if you can fit them without snagging the fairing on full lock.
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

I think they look awful, but other people probably love the way they look.

I've ridden a bike with bar end mirrors and they were so vibey you couldn't see anything in them.

I'm not sure if you can get BSABloke's mirror extenders in NZ, but if I can help by sending some out just let me know. Or maybe you have seen them but don't like em!

How your bike looks is entirely a matter for you.
There's even people out there showing off their coloured screens and headlight covers!

And I heard the other day that Anne O'Dising from Probolt is looking for another job.........

But for me the problem would be filtering- I want my bikes to be a thin as possible, so filtering through small gaps is easy.
Having said that, if you're stuck behind a German tractor with Metal Mule panniers for his sandwiches it don't matter how thin your bike is....

Also they rub on every bloody thing going, walls, catch clothing, rub along cars and pedestrians etc. I also think they look totally shite. and the ones that hang underneath the bars look even shiter. only my opinion though.

I have them in summer on the beemer and I love em , little round ones that give a fear view , you are aware that they stick out a bit but so do my knees as I'm 6'2" so no biggy, Tony what is it with you and metal mule panniers? Or is it because they have more personality? Or wear louder shirts than you?

Dont care about filtering as I have a B12 for going to work duties. And to those that like the mirror extenders, sorry they are not my thing.

But am thinking of a pair of these at 240mm long could work on the fairing. Yes Ive asked if they have all black sets.

25 miles each way on the South Circular.
