Petrol tank thoughts

Post by scooke »

Hi guys and gals where I work nights I have lots of two to think and was curious. Does any other petrol tank fit onto the vtr apart from the later models. Just thinking any light bracket mods are OK.

Thankies

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I did a VFR 24 l tank conversion a few years ago. Quite a lot of work, it looked shite and I changed back and sold the tank and fitting kit on.
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Bannanaman of this here very fine forum did the VFR tank swap. He then sold it on e-bay & the tit who bought it ran it low on oil & re sold it.

As you can see the tank dosen't sit right along the frame...IMO in the flesh it looks a bit bulbous. Or to pt it another way...gash!

A swap with a later model 19lt tank is doable, if you can find one but it's not a straight swap as the taps are different & IIRC you have to swap the sender over as well...
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...
