what have you done to your "bike" today
Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Didn't land on my face but I did a back flip and smacked my head on the floor, that hurt. Was going really, really well to
Head hurts a little but other than that I'm ok. Bike is more beaten up than me.
Think my tyre pressures were slightly to high and I think I may have been slightly hard on the throttle but not sure. Should cost around 150 or less to put the bike back together (not looking as nice as she was) and then a new lid. I wanted a new one anyway
Looks like the blackbirds going to Devon! !

He came off in Mallory Park? What the heck was he doing blasting past lions and giraffes on a motorbike? Did he slide in elephant poo and come off?

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Rode my mates Fireblade yesterday which has a handlebar conversion, comfiest sports bike I ever rode, so I fitted a set of speed triple bars today, did you know a cbr600 has the same geometry on the yokes and the bar conversion we had lying around fitted straight on.
Managed to use all the original hoses and wiring, but had to unbolt the brake t piece from the bottom yoke so it could go higher.
Also used an old fairing and just chopped the fairing and screen off at the mirror brackets, looks suprisingly neat. Just needs bar end mirrors now as the mirror extenders look silly with a short fairing and screen.
I'll try and get a pic up later.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Well, despite the reasons why it happened (....the sun was in me eyes....I braked too early...I braked too late....it was the wrong line heading into the corner...It WAS elephant poo...I can't ride a bike to save me life...I'm gonna stick to me moped and the pizza delivery job....), I think you have bigger balls than most of us for even wanting to take a bike onto a race track and ride it flat out.
You're either mad, certified insane, or just got no sensible brain cells to tell you "hang on a minute....I could kill meself here".
No-Sirree Bob. You'd never catch me at that malarkey! I take my hat off to you for having the oversized gonads needed to perform such lunacy. Even if it does end up doing a sideways close-up tarmac inspection.
Well done that lad.

Whoops. You've also discovered the down side of these trackdays haha I've got spare standard rearsets and levers if you need to borrow or buy
Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
I think I'm all 3 I must be even crazier that after a session out all I wanted to do was get back on and give it large again. I know of 2 reasons why it happened. It was either one or both of them. Either way there both my own fault and it's cost me and eventually I'll learn. Thing I'm most annoyed over is I nearly put the race body work on but couldn't be bothered. Never mind. Poo happens and we just get on with it

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Hi guys.
This is done with my manky old fairing that's been in the shed for a long time and wasn't much good when it went in, because it is cut in a fairly substantial way I wanted to try it out before I do anything with my nice set of fairings. It is a CBR6 riser conversion I had knocking around and a Street triple set of bars. Just about got away with original hoses but will be ordering new brake lines to make it neater. All turns lock to lock with no issues and is SO comfortable I can't believe it.

Got to lose the mirrors, they are far too long. I think a nice set of bar end ones would work well.

Yes I know that as thats what my bike has. Im pretty sure the top clamp from a 600 Hornet will do the same thing.mattycoops43 wrote:Rode my mates Fireblade yesterday which has a handlebar conversion, comfiest sports bike I ever rode, so I fitted a set of speed triple bars today, did you know a cbr600 has the same geometry on the yokes and the bar conversion we had lying around fitted straight on.
