New member saying Hi!!!!
Hi everyone,
I have joined this forum as I recently became a Firestorm owner.
I didn't mean to buy one, it just happened, I was in the right place at the right time......read on.
Three weeks ago I was walking past a local motorbike shop in York and I noticed parked outside a Honda Firestorm, just unloaded from a van, looking like a brand new bike. I got talking to my mate who works there and he said the bike had just being taken in part exchange.
He said it was very low mileage, I asked how low, to which he turned the key to reveal 375 miles from new. How? It was bought new by a well off chap with a big garage. He used it on and off for 3 years and in that time knocked up a huge 85 miles! That's the mileage on the first MOT certificate. It was used now and then over then next couple of years then sat in his garage until a couple of months ago when it was taken to a Honda specialist to be re-commissioned with a view of riding it again, but the owner decided to down-size.
So there I was, a complete bike nut face to face with this drop-dead gorgeous bike. A chance meeting, like meeting a really fit bird in a pub whos giving me the wink, but better! Im sure it would not hang around for long once it got into the showroom. I asked how much it was, then I went home and gave it some thought. The next day it was mine, it was too good to pass on!
Ive not used it as yet, Im still awaiting a reg number as it had a personal plate that the previous owner kept. Its a black FX model registered in 2001. Its all genuine, a UK bike, virtually as new with 375 miles only from new. What a find. Im not sure when I will use it as I have other bikes and a classic car, but Im happy to have it here to admire. Maybe next year. Every day when I get home Im straight into the garage to drool over it......as you fellow 'Storm nuts can imagine!
I live in York and Im regularly at Squires café on my red and black Kawasaki GPZ900R.
Cheers,
Roger

Re: New member saying Hi!!!!
thought i done well but you done better.I bought my storm 4 weeks ago with 4,586 miles on it with mot's to prove. The man i got it from had it from new and spent a lot of money modifying it with fire blade forks, brembo brakes, carbon fibre front mudguard and rear hugger, carbon tech footrests and hangers,HRC magnesium wheels with a 190 rear tyre, seat hump, ohlins suspension, full floating discs and a two brothers hi level exhaust system. He slid on a roundabout and dropped it damaging fairing and exhaust link pipe,he then put it in a garage and said f@#k the motorbikes.I now have it back on the road but still need a link pipe as the one on the bike has a serious flat bit on it (can any one reading this help as two brothers wont unless i buy a complete system).
SO WHEN DOES THIS OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER KICK IN

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Hello and welcome .
If your not going to be using it much do the stopper mod to the ccts or that low mileage engine will go pop !
