Picking up my first, and probably only, Firestorm tonight

Post by freeridenick »

Hi All,

Thanks for the welcome info and the great info I've already checked out. This forum was extremely useful when I was deciding to buy my Firestorm.

It's a mate's bike and it used to look like this https://www.dropbox.com/s/fc2d8q60dfib3 ... 010109.jpg

It's now in a few more parts, but I'm hoping to get it back on the road a.s.a.p. No doubt I'll be looking for help on here.

Looking forward to a finished project.

Cheers
Nick

Welcome aboard Nick
It looks like a well cared for bike when your mate used to own her :)

Good luck in getting the bike all back together,

Chris.

Thanks everyone. I'm just east of Manchester in Glossop.

It's not had as good a life as the pic suggests unfortunately. CCT went on the front cylinder and my mate bought it as a project.

The CCT has been replaced with a Honda original and it's had a replacement head, so I'm hoping all I need to do is double check all the timings and check the compression before I stick it all back together again and try and fire it up.

The plastics were all cracked and broken, especially round the screen, but my mates repaired most of those. I need to learn to paint though.

The good news is I've got over £200 worth of nuts, bolts and other bits for when it goes back together. First job is to sort and label everything.
