Post by yellafella »

Anyone know of any decent pub/camping sites in the Lake District ?
Just fancy a ride out / piss up ! :P
Hate going to places and having to hold back on the alcohol intake ! :P
Believe there used to be a place called the Hikers Bar but was a long time ago and i have no idea where it was !

We stayed ( me & Kevg) at the hydrohotel in bowness about £55 a night, real posh, wiv a swimming pool indoors. Bike parked outside main reception watched over by doorman. Pubs a plenty 50 yards.

Campsite in Langdale, choice of 2 pubs, both excellent when last visited.

The Dungeon Ghyll (and the Old DG) are the pubs in Langdale

Wasdale's excellent if the siter nead the Hotel is open, bugger of a walk if it isn't

Last time I was camping in the lakes was 15years ago!!
From memory little langdale was woeful but Coniston campsite was well apointed (and a 10 minute walk into town)
Mind you anything's luxury when you've been sopping wet for 4 solid days and have just yomped over the Old man of Coniston carrying 60kg packs!!

Same for me!
But Little, and Great Langdale, though part of the same valley, are different locations. Are we talking about the same campsite?
