Spare Parts

Post by oldbikeman »

Recently my FireStorm Was given a Category C because a old lady parked her car on it.I have been offered the bike back with less cash but will only consider this if folk on this site give me feed back on spare parts.the fairings were bust and the frame dinted but not bent. The motor has only 11 thousand pampered miles. It was just as the one on the Haynes manual so if any interest please be quick as the full cash is tempting.

i'm sure lloydie will want the engine mate. you can make over a grand in parts, but you'll have to get your hands dirty and piss about with postage and packing.

Depends if there were any modifications to it and what the modifications were really. But like BSM said the engine would go easily and so would quite a few generic parts that are always in need, due to the storm being discontinued

Hi
The bike will cost me £650 back from the insurance so I must get a least that back for the whole bike.So any offers to make that happen and I,ll get them to deliver it back home.
I posted pics of the accident here.

Can't really see much of the bike under the cover and the car. Have you any pics of the bike before it was spattered? What was assessed as damaged on the bike - You've mentioned frame and fairing (are the panels repairable?) Forks presumably knackered?
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I would think £650 is easily achievable from the parts.

Engine - £200-400 without carbs
Carbs - maybe £50-100
Frame - £50-200
Subframe - £25
Swingarm - £25
Wheels - £100-200
Levers - £25-40
Fairings (even if damaged) - £100 upto £300
Tank - £25 if dented £50-75 if not and if 19l
Light - £25
Rearsets - £25
Forks - £100 if not damaged
Brake discs - £60

That's £810 there using the lower figures. If you have things left over like screen, mirrors, original exhausts, downpipes, radiators, calipers, indicators, rear light, rear pegs, clocks, clip ons etc etc then they're all worth money and you will probably make at least £1000
