Shame about the colour

Looks mint though. Had mine from new but a few winters commuting has somewhat taken the shine off.

They really are awesome and generally bullet proof and reliable bikes. Mines let me down once in 13 years and 25K miles and that was due to a 7 year old battery.

Thanks but it's a lost cause. Paintwork is pretty much fine it's all the alloy and steel that has been attacked by the salt.

It's mechanically fine though and my commuter/workhorse now. My other bike is the one I look after, but being Matt Green it's never going to shine.....

Out of curiosity what polish do you use, I don't mean wax  And do use a rotory or DA?

Always use a DA, takes a bit longer but a hell of a lot safer, I would hate to kill someones pride and joy, my favourite is the 3m compounds

Then final stage a nice cherry glaze, makes it smell nice, that does not sound right even in my head :D

I know what you mean. I love the smell of Bilt Hamber Hydra-Wax, smells good enough to drink  like a tropical fruit juice.

I will be giving the 3M a go one day as I'm being pulled towards it by their quality videos and the colour system they use. I have only attempted polishing once and used the Menzerna range of polish. I used a drill with speed control :eek2 One day I will purchase a DA. I'm on the learning curve to detailing.

Anyway keep up the good work and I look forward to some threads on polish, wax etc.

If you want my advice, just buy a Kestral DA it puts pleasure into polishing knowing you cant damage you paint, using a drill you must be clenching your butt cheeks all the time your doing it, I know I would be :D
