Unsuccessful :( At least I can take some pride I was short listed into the last 10 applicants

Can't, it's a once every 4 years apprenticeship. Applying for similar ones at Jaguar, Boeing and Rolls Royce Aeronauticals or whatever it's called now. Might as well try and get at least one of them :lol:

As a mate of mine who works delivering "working at heights" training for the NHS says, on wards and upwards.

Yes! They need to get there bloody "recall" letters out quicker. I had a 2003 Triumph Tiger 955i and was sent a recall notive about the fuel hoses 3 days after it caught fire while i was at a set of Traffic lights. never again, Jap for me ever since.

But I was where you are a while back, and that isn't funny, trying to get interviews and given a fair chance at a good role. Luckily I found something that suits, but hopefully something that's right for you will arrive soon. All you can do is keep on keeping on.... Good luck.
