firestorm rear light bulbs

Post by burty »

does anyone know if you can buy led bulbs for the rear light on a standard storm light unit and where to get them from and also if they are any good ? i don't like the look of the led light units and the one`s that include the indicators should be banned on the grounds of cruelty to biking and sheer bad taste :P :Ball Kick:

I converted mine to led by fitting early cbr600f bulb holders as they use standard type bulbs . It works well but you do need to mod the light as the location holes are a little different .

I've had LED bulbs fitted to my standard rear light for a few years now. Bought them off ebay., had no problems with them

i thought it was a bayonet fitment?
i'd be very tempted to give these a try, if they're the correct fitment that is....

Most available led light replacement bulbs are actually less bright then the OEM bulbs, you have to make sure that it is bright first so people can see you behind, or you can go with teh Led Mod way and modify the whole unit, it is relatively easy and you can find the whole unit for low prices, not sure about the a actual price in the UK, I just picked up a unit today for $11 USD including tax from Pep boys auto store and will make the conversion next couple weeks.
Here is a link on how to do the retrofit:

I think 580 is the bulb type for 5/21 watt cap less bulbs ( stop and tail). T20 is like the front parking light.
