I fancy fightering my Storm, but leaving two rads exposed is a concern.
Would a conversion to a single radiator be possible, if so I can't see how?
Or leave them where they are but knock up some kind of protection for them?
I vaguely remember this being discussed before but I couldn't find it through a search.
Single rad conversion possible?

There's a pic of one in the latest edition of Streetfighters mag , have a look at that , it might give you some idea of what you needbrownie wrote:I fancy fightering my Storm, but leaving two rads exposed is a concern.

Foreign bloke , IIRC , but there may be a way of contacting him ??
If a job's worth doing..........It's worth paying someone to do it properly
Re: Single rad conversion possible?
It's a pretty straightforward exercise in theory - remove the two originals, fabricate some brackets for the new single rad, connect the pipework and that's about it.brownie wrote:I fancy fightering my Storm, but leaving two rads exposed is a concern.

However there are some practical problems to overcome. One of the reasons for the side mounted rads was to keep the wheelbase down with a V configuration engine, so clearance for the new rad may be an issue. A curved radiator may be better than a flat one.
Make sure the front wheel doesn't foul the rad when the forks are at maximum compression.
Make sure there is room for the cooling fan behind the rad. You may need to relocate the oil cooler
Make sure that the new rad provides sufficient capacity to cool the engine.
Anything is possible, depends on how much time/money you want to spend on it.
For a streetfighter, my main concern would be aesthetic - those side mounted radiators are wombles ugly.
