Hello

Post by leevtr »

Hello People,
Name's Lee, live Romford, Essex. Just aquired my second Storm, a mint 8000 miler in red, for £ 1500...Bargain !!

Think my only mods will be CCT's and a scottoiler. Had all the trinkets on my old one ( Which was actually newer than this one ) but really just want to leave this one alone. Must be getting old !!

Had a load of other bikes in between, including a 1000rr Blade, 4 CB1300's, a Varadero, SP1 Laguna Seca (the best bike ever IMHO ) Transalp and so on.

I really didn't want to part with my old Storm, but after 4 completely trouble free years and 44000 miles, it was time for a change, but I'm glad to be back in the fold, and they are so much better than given credit for. I hope this one's a keeper, even if money allows me to add others.

Anyway, enough said for now, maybe will get to know a few more vtr owners here !!

Cheers.

Hello, Good morning & Welcome Lee.

Lived in Romford myself for some 20 years. Bought my Storm from Johns in Rush Green!

Always used to see a Laguna Seca rep parked up outside a print shop in Victoria road, was that yours? The bike not the print shop that is.

Mac ex-Essex now a complete Kent.

Hello Mac, no that wasn't mine. Wish I still had that one, bought it to keep, but recession hit building trade and needed the money. Almost cried when I sold it, would love another !!

Wicky is hosting a workshop day in Maldon area, Essex where folk can perform some of the regular maintenance tasks (cct's, rr, valves, carbs) under supervision of some of the forums maintenance elves.

Might be worth a visit, seeing as I plan to fit some manuals.

On that subject, my previous storm had 37000 on the clock before I got a little rattle from one cct ( cant remember which ). Didn't just let go, no damage done. Changed the pair, no more issues. Theo other thing I shall do is buy a Reg Rec and keep it handy. My old one never gave me a prob, but I know they're prone to giving up.

Hello Lee

Welcome to the forum

I've never lived in or near Romford

and I don't know any bike shops or people there

In fact I don't think I have even been to Romford

Nor do I think I have been through it

or near it

Well I don't think so

If I did, would I remember it? :)
