Just been out for my first ride with my new, non leaking forks fitted. It's nice not having fork oil dripping from my brake discs.
But the biggest improvement has come from the heavier fork oil and the Wirth progressive springs - thanks Benny for the recommendation  - makes a huge difference, it feels like a different, better, bike.
Roll on summer!

And I'm loving the new seat. Leather smells good...

Fitted -45mm dogbones to the wifes (my) bandit, dropped the forks nearly 20mm and ripped the stuffing out of the seat. She actually fits on it now

you're welcome  i'm happy with mine too.
also very happy with the yacugar progressive rear spring from ftr suspension.... might be something else to add to your list. 80 notes but money well spent.

today i fixed a customer's media blast machine and took the liberty of testing it for him
Image
the exhaust is to be sprayed later in firwood stove enamel, same as the exhaustively tested ( ) coating applied to my kwak about 3k miles ago & still looking good.
i bought a new chain & sprocket set last summer as it was 1/2 price at £45 but decided to stick with this one as there's easy 5-10k left on it. just the carrier needed cleaning up cos it was minging!
also cleaned up the footplates off my scooter - the media i used gives an excellent satin finish... i might leave them like that.
yesterday i fitted a new 21mm slide carb to it as it wouldn't idle properly with the 26mm one i tried.
this one is spot on

no... a cv carb, the slide is operated by vacuum, whereas a slide carb is cable operated, it moves a piston up a bore to open the throttle

a scooter cv carb (similar in ways to the storm carb) http://battlescooter.com/1.html

a round slide carb http://www.motorcyclecarbs.com/About_Mi ... s_W143.cfm

much easier to tune & set up than cv carbs imo... very simple operation & maintenance, no moving parts apart from the float, needle valve and slide.
you can get flat slide carbs too - very popular i racing, again cos of ease of setup and the larger airflow over round slides.
hth! :biggrin

& yes i would like to try some fat flat slide carbs on the storm, if i could find some downdraught ones....
wonder what they'd go like with a set of big webers on!

Not quite what I did to my bike but what I did whilst out on my bike...

My Cricket club were playing the Colchester Garrison club (not many soldiers as they are all abroad) anyhow my club have only 10 men and I only turn up to watch (man flu) chasing 136 to win we were 120odd and needed an eleventh batsman - out I go in full leathers, boots, pads, helmet, gloves and bat - I survived a 2 close run-outs and an lbw decision (and assorted sledging) only to run out my partner to lose the match.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
