engine replacement

Post by andys350 »

so thursday and friday this week were spent fitting used engine from spares unlimited, it took about 15 hours in my shed to remove old lump with failed tensioner/valves/head/liner, and replace with shiny 6000 mile engine, and i'm knackered (no bench), please note no help from anyone i did it all own my jack jones, and would i do it again? no f-ing way, next insurance renewal i'm going fully comp with protected no claims and if it goes again it'll end up in the canal, advice offered would be, sort a tool out for the engine bolts, don't lose any radiator hose clamps and make sure silencer clamps are loose and not seized before you start, and have 4 litres of fresh oil and 4 litres of fresh coolant ready
