Which bulbs?

Post by ktd001 »

I know this is probably a daft question, but which bulb do I need for the front lamp? Is it H4, H7 or Cell Block H? Also, anyone got any recommends? I keep seeing ultra white (thought that was toothpaste) ultra blue (got that in my video collection) and ultra yellow (what happens when I realise I'm going 20mph too fast for a bend).
All thoughts, comments and general nonsense appreciated

H4 is the bulb you want, try one of those 100watt jobbies that you see kicking around ( I think that there is a previous thread on here somewhere) They are supposed to be alot better than the "old candle lamp" that seems to be fitted as standard.

As for the pretty colours, don't get the ultra red as this means you where going 30 mph to fast into corners

Thanks for that. Just need to get a new spares kit for the bike.

As for the ultra red, tried that a few times. Can be very entertaining when you're young but I feel the pain more now!

I have one of those 100watt jobbies fitted, much better than stock.
and no probs with it at all, best way to fit it is to slide the whole top fairing forward to get into change it

I bought off e/bay a pair of H4 55/65/watt eurodezigns 6000hid xenon bulbs. They cost about £10 and were shipped from canada. They give a very good strong white beam on dip and oncoming cars seem to notice you as the light is intense with a blue tint. High beam is not very good though but i find i dont need it with such an improved dip.
The 6000 hid apparently has somthing to do with the performance of the bulb... the higher the hid the better apparently.
