Hi,
Would it improve the handling? Or is it just because bigger tyres look better? :?:

well, with the right 190 tyre then you will get more rubber on the road when leant over i guess.

Along the same lines, how difficult is it to fit 'Blade forks and from what year model would I need them??

Up to '98 ones drop virtually straight in. You use the blade yokes and wheel spacers and the storm wheel and disks and head bearings fit straight in.
However, the blade forks are shorter and fit flush with the top yoke so you'll need some riser clip-ons to fit under the yoke.

Ben

PS I didn't actually do mine from scratch, I bought the front end of someone else and fitted it

Blade forks are not too bad to install but you'll need the clipons as ben said and also to relocate the horn. You'll probably end up getting them revalved anyway as while they're better than standard vtr ones there still not the greatest. Be careful if you fit taper roller head bearings too!

See Shaun Pallisters VTR site for detailed install instructions.

As far as tyres go stick to the 180's. 190's slow down your turn in speed and you also get less contact patch on the tarmac. Its because 190's are designed for 6" rims so the vtr's 5.5" rear hoop means the tyre is pinched. This is why it didn't look any bigger Essex!!!
