Firestorm touring conversion - long range tank

Post by AMCQ46 »

As my riding companions were all on BMW GS1200's, FJR1300, ZZR1200, I was getting a bit worried that my fuel range would leave me stranded at the roadside.

the solution:

Got me safe for 150 miles on a tank, but only needed it once on a sunday when the little village petrol stations were shut in France.

Was a bit worried that the ferry people would make a fuss, but had no problem other than swinging my leg over all that lot in sweaty leathers without falling over!

True Timbo but not totally true.........Television and the truth rarely cross paths :D If you have to do top cover (up top with firepower) its your call. Not every scooter that comes within 100 ft gets it :D ....... I love the fact that the Storm will tour the world with the best of the rest with nothing needed but an extra fuel can :biggrin
I see myself as a sensitive intelligent man but with the heart of a clown that causes me to **ck things up right at that crucial moment........'Jim Morrison'

There should be fleets of mobile tankers travelling up and down the country able to fill Storms on the move like air-to-air refueling

IIRC the Lav RGS1000 had the petrol filler on the front of the fairing - ideal!

Now I realise why I was subliminally drawn to Red Storms...
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Doesn't the GF complain?
A burning pain in the nether regions?

Just suggest a live yoghurt douche.

It doesn't work, but it's bloody funny to watch.

EDIT: there's one on YouTube, just search for Live Yoghurt.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
