No probs Hawk, no offense taken :)

I only recently got back on a bike, after about 25 years away from them (last one was a Suzuki DR500 in Oman, a real pig to start when it's 45 deg. C).

I found myself using the back brake, I guess unconsciously. It's just how I was taught to ride. Out of interest, what are riders being taught now? Use the back brake, or not? Genuinely interested.

I really liked the article you posted on this! I won't be doing any 2-up riding, so that's the first reason to use it out the window. I didn't know that rear brake application mid-corner would tighten the line; as soon as it's dry here, I'll go and try it! Also a good point is about chopping the throttle mid-corner. You might get away with it on a 4 cylinder, but big twins give a lot of engine braking. A dab of rear brake sounds like a good idea.
