Engine rebuild question

Post by freeridenick »

When the cases go back together has everyone been able to turn the crank by hand? It's been so long I can't remember what the last one felt like. This one I can turn but I need to wrap a rag around the cam chain teeth otherwise I lose skin. I'm thinking that's too tight and I've got something slightly out of place.

No, you should be able to turn it easily by hand with no resistance. Something wrong, did you get the bearing dowel in the hole on the outer race?.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Cheers. It's coming apart again tomorrow then.

On the gearbox you mean? I think so but will double check everything.
