Blinking indicators

Post by lumpyv »

Hello, my front offside indicator does not work the rear os one goes at 20 to the dozen, nearside both work correctly.
It's not the bulb, I've changed the relay and I've checked the earth's.
I can't think anythings happened to the wiring cos it hardly goes anywhere, never in the rain and it lives in a garage, all cosy and clean.
Can't really be anything else but the wiring can it??

It sounds as if there is no power getting to the front O/S indicator. Check with multi- meter to confirm first, then I would say it's probably a switch problem,

Sent you back a PM but as Chris says either a switch issue or wireing.

Check the conections to the front O/S indi, the female side of the bullet can open up & get loose. Check for corosion, green muck.

Have you changed the bulb ? Is it the correct wattage...Try swapping the font bulbs over side to side & see if its the same or the issue swaps sides.

I would strip & clean the switch, dirt & grime build up & 20+year old grease.

If you have any contact cleaner give the switch a good squirt & work the switch on & off. Then try it again if that improved things then strip & clean...
