Farewell Wicky...

Post by MacV2 »

I have recived a msg from Jonesy...

Foward of a msg from Johns Sister...

Confirming John Hepburn funeral Monday 24 May 1.15pm Colchester Crematorium.
Mersea Road CO28RU.

Angelina.

There is no news yet of a ride out/convoy but that has been put forward as an idea.

Obviously with covid restrictions in place it may not happen.

I don't think there was any mention of Wicky being ill on here.
My apologies if there was and I didn't see it.

Thanks for posting that information Mac,

Chris.

No there was nothing posted on here, apparently he had a few issues heart wise but had kept it to himself on here.

OK at the moment apparently there are no ristrictions on attendees, how ever there will be no wake as such on the day.

Monday 24 May 1.15pm Colchester Crematorium. Mersea Road CO28RU.

John's sister Angelina, is hoping to arrange a send off later in the year once all restriction have been lifted.

I will try to get further info as to the afformentioned ride behind from the house to the crematorium.

I will try to find out any info ASAP.

Jonesey is in contact with John's Sister & has been to the house to look at John's Storm with the intention of riding it behind the hearse.

Unfortunatly It's been parked up for over a year, no MOT or Tax. So thats a no go.

So I plan to ride up on the day, any one from Darn Sarf who is wishing to attend We could meet up at the filling station just off J28 at say 10.30hrs with the aim of leaving at 11.00. It's approx 50mins from there to the house so ETA around 12.00 which gives us plenty of time before the off from the house.

ATM I'm unaware of the timeings at that end except that the service is at 13.15. So best to get there early rather than late.

A12 is mostly 50mph limits with loads of cameras apparently...

Any of you guys who wish to join me at J28 please let me know ASAP So I know who to wait for...

Post codes below if you want to make your own way there.

Shell fule station J28 CM14 5NA

Johns house...CO2 8NG

Colchester Crematorium. Mersea Road CO28RU.

Hi, Mac.
I just checked the route, it's 1.2 miles from John's house to the crem, 4 minutes, say 6 at hearse speeds...

I might wait for the wake, especially as my bike overheats badly at low speeds, and the SP2 isn't taxed or insured.
Just come a long for the meet & ride up, you don't have to do the behind the hearse bit just follow on 10 mins later & you'll probaly arrive spot on...
