To be fair Chris neddles bed in after a few 100miles. Already put 800 on this since doing them should have done them last week but the cricket got in the way... Thats my excuse & I'm sticking to it...

Ah, in that case you can be excused Yes taper roller head bearings do need final adjustments after the initial fitting and some miles have been covered I agree
Chris.
Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Finally got the jetting close enough to make the trip to the dyno but now am waiting on my second new fairing stay. My old one was close but the left side was tweaked a bit from the bike falling over. So took the first new stay out of the box.....all looked good. Mounted all the bits, the lead weights can be a pain.... , mounted it to the frame and went to install the fairing. The right side of the stay was off by a good 15mm or so. At least they have no issue replacing it but damn those weights are harder to get out than put in....... Almost ready for the road
Loud pipes don't save lives, knowing how to ride your bike will save your life.

I'll be interesting to hear what the Dyno has to say once you're ready to go again,8541Hawk wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 9:01 pm Finally got the jetting close enough to make the trip to the dyno but now am waiting on my second new fairing stay. Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Dropped the front wheel off for a new Road 5 tyre. Pulled the forks out ready to strip down for a service (new seals, oil, bushes). If I get the chance I'll give the lowers a fresh coat of black paint.
Replaced the headstock needle bearings as they felt slightly notchy after only a couple of thousand miles - not sure why that was, maybe I fitted them too tight a couple of yrs ago.
I'll order a chain and sprocket set when I get paid next and get it booked for an MOT.
I'd love to ride it to Wales, so that's my target for now

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Jamie,
it is mandatory that you bring the Storm to Wales it is called Op Storm ......... otherwise it will just be flatty and me.
and even though the bike is painted Black, isnt it the same bike that you you were riding when you first joined us in Wales all those years ago, the silver one with race numbers?

Oh man, I really want to ride it to Wales! But I have the same usual 2 suspects against me... Time and Money! If I can't get the Storm ready then I'll be on the KTM.AMCQ46 wrote:Jamie,

Well remembered mate, it is the same silver storm from 2013 ( ? ) I think.
I've never been so attached to a bike, I just wish I could drop the RC8 motor into it

Nice find! Given the choice, I'd go back to the Silver fairings actually.AMCQ46 wrote:
