So todays instalment in the saga of Blonkey...

Exhausts on... Slight fight on the left as the stupid footrest bracket was a bit bent so needed some hammer time...

Tank on & all pipes conected. Ignition on to chech that the RLOD works...

Put some fule in, no leaks...

Fired it up & it lives !...

Run up to temp fan kicks in...

Balanced carbs, not far out just a minor tweak...

TPS check it's a smidge over 500omhs so that'll do...

Checked coolent & topped up a smidge...

Cleaned up & put it all away, came in & me fork seals have turned up so busy again tomorrow...

Cleaned bike up and checked it over. Rear disc is too thin down to 3mm so have to fit one off spare wheel. Found a crack in one front disc so will swap over from spares. Picking up rear tyre tomorrow. Fitted replacement stickers as only tank had them when I bought it in 2003 so only taken me 18 years to do that. MoT day gets nearer

Blonkey saga...

Last thing yesterday I dropped the oil.

So today got the fillter off after a fight...Involving a hammer & large screwdriver as the poxy tin plate removal tools were just spinning...

New fillter & fresh oil...

Forks will have to wait as the poxy ones I ordered came sans dust seals even tho I order a set of both... In contract with the seller to try & resolve...

The dust seals on it are rotten so need replacing...

It keeps raining so after sorting some bits out for Freeridenick I gave up a & came in...

Looks like an absolutely cracking ride out Kev
I still haven't figured out how you can park up in a manky field to take some pictures and not even get a speck of mud on the bike let alone the tyres.
If you dementia eases you'll have to let us know. :D

:D That's normally because the bike was trailered there. The trailer is probably just out of shot

Great photo's Kev
I hope you had a great ride,

More Blonkey ness... Total strip & rebuild of the forks... Seals & bushing's... even gave the lowers a spruce up...

Did the headstock bearings as the front end was off...Still had ball races so put in some tappered...

Doh moment No.1 found I had a full set of fork seals in the draw...fek knows how I missed them...

Doh moment No.2... Put the forks on torqued up the last bolt, just about to put the wheel in...Forks lowers are handed for the brake mounts & muppet brain had them on the wrong way...

It had started raining at this point & with bike half out of the cave on an abba stand with the wheel out I was a bit distracted...thats my excuse & I'm sticking to it...

Bunged the tail fairing on mainly just to check lights work...

MOT booked for tomorrow PM... Just fairing & mudgard to fit quick check over & should be good to go...

Out in the cave early...

Gave the seat plastics a buff up, seat on, buff the tank, mudguard & bikini fairing buffed & fitted. Fairing on, lights checked...

Sideligt bulb out so replaced... Indis plugged in all tested & working, final fit of the fairing...

Right hand mirror all floppy... Pulled back the boot hoping it was just a loose bolt... Of course not the...The botton bit of the mount was missing in action so nothing for the bolt to tighten to...

Raid the spares pile & found another right hand mirror but its not an OEM one but it will do for now...

Heading out for the MOT @ 15.30...

Will report back later...
