Southern softie ride up to scotland

Post by tony.mon »

I suppose that the time has come to start planning the travel arrangements and overnight stops....

I have the Thursday off so can set off then.
Tbh the motorway is tedious, so may stuff the 2 in the back of the van and drive up to Yorkshire or so, then park it up somewhere and ride the rest on Friday.

What are others planning? Bazza? Pete?

From 1pm on Friday?
Does anyone live locally so I can park the van up and leave it for the weekend?

yes Friday at 1pm

normally Pete comes up to mine and then we set off early through Shropshire & Cheshire to avoid the M6 as long as possible, then we do M6 to preston and then into the hills from there... but too much traffic to have fun till we get to Settle, but after that its non stop bike roads

Many thanks for the kind offers, I am staying over at Flattie's in Leeds on the Thursday night and dumping the van there.

We can join up with the Yorkshire contingent and the main bunch as they come through on the route North into the badlands on Friday.

Suppose I ought to throw a bucket of water over the 2 and check the tyre pressures....
