K&N: yes or no?

I recently took delivery of a set of Micron oval (race, I believe) slip-ons and a Dynojet kit which I hope to install in the very near future (note: FYI the Dynojet jet kit is identical to the Micron kit, same needles, springs,...). During the installation process, I will be disabling the PAIR syste...

Thanks Pete,

I believe my bike may have the PAIR system but I know it doesn't ahve the charcoal canister and the rest of that stuff (like the California bikes do).

Really appreciate the help.

Hello Pete, thanks for the reply. I believe my Microns are the race pipes (bought them off eBay so not sure but the outlet hle is about 2" dia and I see no special baffle present). In so far as the bike is concerned, we in Canada get the Firestorm, not the Superhawk as our neighbours to the Sou...

Micron slip-ons, jetting?

Hello everyone, I just received the oval low-mount Micron slip-ons that I purchased on eBay. They are in mint shape and I can't wait to install them on my 99 Storm. I will get the cans themselves powdercoated black prior to installing them for a different look (should go well with the bike's midnigh...

K&N: worth it?

Hello, I just picked up a set of Micron low-mount slip-ons on eBay and am looking forward to installing them shortly. I will likely be looking at re-jetting to maximize the benefits from the new cans (seeking mostly mid-range improvement as I use the bike mostly for sporrt-touring and very seldom re...

TPS mod

Who has tried the TPS mod and what was the outcome? My 99 Storm runs fine now so I was wondering if it was worth the effort to do the mod. A local mechanic who is apparently well versed in VTR issues said the mod was a waste of time. Anyone?

K&N questions

I own a 1999 Firestorm which is basically stock engine-wise. I was looking at the possibly of adding a set of slip-ons but recently learned that police forces here in Quebec, Canada, are apparently set to begin doing decibel checks of bikes (thank you all you lovely Harley types!!!!) so I think I ma...

I have a set of mirror extensions on mine and they were made by a company called GenMar. You can find out more by doing a Web search. Good luck.
