If you drill & tap the hole in the head below the valve you can locktight a headless bolt / screw in there & the problem is curred. Dont let any swarf go down into the exhaust port!

Have you checked that the crankshaft primary/antirattle gear has been preloaded ?

I have a set of remus link pipes that I will be offering for sale in a few days time when I reach 50 posts unfortunatly they have the exhausts attached to them, great sounding pipes though.
