Re: OHHH FFS !

It's not all done with GPS - the forward facing camera detects the road signs and displays it in the dashboard. It's only a small step to using it to automatically limit the car. But as the article says, it's not 100% accurate. But yes, I think camera, black box, GPS will all be compulsory within a ...

Re: How and where to sell up the VTR :-(

Cheers Wicky, I know that, but I can't see the pics. Just wondering if it was just me or if there's a problem on the post.

I can't see the pics on your Sale post (and I can't reply to it as I don't have enough posts yet). Can one of the Mods have a look?

Did you take them out again?
I used some plastic caps that I found, so definitely not left in there

Re: Carb rebuild woes... Won't rev past 3k

Sounds like one of the carb slide diaphragms isn't seated properly. Yes.... Thought had crossed my mind. Perhaps I should have run it up with the airbox off first... No need to start, just remove the filter, open the slides fully, release, and check if they return the same time or for...

Re: Carb rebuild woes... Won't rev past 3k

Have you put the vacuum pipe on the petrol tap on the right outlet (assuming you have the earlier version bike with 16ltr fuel tank). The outlet you need sticks out to the side of the tap, not the drain outlet that points down to the ground, although I wouldn't have thought it would rev to 9K if th...

or the cam timing (sorted when I bought the bike due to previous owners attempts at cam timing...).
Have you ridden it since then?
Yeah, done a couple of thousand miles since then. Not touched the motor, just carbs.

Carb rebuild woes... Won't rev past 3k

Soo, long time coming, first ride today after the winter rebuild. Forks - lovely. Swinger/shock linkage - lovely. New Michelin PR4 - lovely. Carbs..... Not so lovely. I stripped them originally due to age and the low speed fuelling was awful. Spotlessly clean when rebuilt. All standard, standard nee...

Re: New Job...

Fuel card/car is a big perk, but remember the tax man will want his cut of that (if you get personal use). Its based on the P11D value of the vehicle and the CO2 emissions, and its getting steep this/next year for anything but the cheapest little runabout. Bear it in mind. Some companies let you opt...

No coolant in carbs?

Excuse me if I'm being a bit daft, but I've taken the carbs off a couple of times now and not once had any coolant (not even a drip) out of them, nor the pipes that feed them. Am I missing something? Coolant reservoir is full, all bled, bike runs fine normally, except its a tad rough, hence the carb...

Took me about 3 hours to bleed the storm! Squeeze the lever, crack the nipple, close the nipple, squeeze the lever, crack the nipple, close the nipple..... On and on and on....
